Floating Bamboo Pod

The Floating LOG Shikara is a mobile, flood-adaptive typology designed by Yasmeen Lari, Pakistan's first female architect and the recipient of the 2023 RIBA Royal Gold Medal.

During my time at her practice, the Heritage Foundation for Pakistan, one of the projects I contributed to was the Floating Quarantine Shelters initiative at the Zero Carbon Centre in Makli village. The project aimed to provide adaptive, floating shelters during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the potential to transition into sustainable residential clusters. My role involved drafting technical drawings, assisting with on-site construction, and collaborating closely with local communities to refine the design's functionality and long-term impact.
