UNESCO, Youth, Heritage

The Tomb of Mirza Jan Baba project was an archival and documentation initiative that I led and managed during my time at the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan, architect Yasmeen Lari's NGO in Karachi Pakistan.

In collaboration with the British Council, the project focused on creating a comprehensive archive of to document the intricate craftsmanship of the 1608 monument located within the Makli Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Sindh, Pakistan.

As the project leader, I led efforts to engage local youth through workshops, where I held workshops to teach historical significance of the site and archival techniques, and managed related teams. Simultaneously, I produced detailed CAD drawings of over 260 carved motifs, contributing to the Heritage Foundation’s extensive historical archive. This initiative not only preserved a vital piece of Pakistan's cultural heritage but also empowered the local community by fostering a deeper understanding of its rich history.
