'Nomadic Towers' is a pop-up pavilion for a delightful interim garden in Shoreditch, London.
The proposal caters to both the local residents and the homeless community, providing a place for where the users may shower then exchange and dry their clothes.
With the permanence of the garden being uncertain, the architecture allows for the entire structure to be packed up and transported, allowing it to and put up wherever the garden may migrate to.
UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Tomb of Mirza Jan Baba is among the impressive monuments in WH, Makli, Karachi, Pakistan. It is entirely built with stone and many of its stone panels and other elements are decorated with highly skilled carved motifs drawn from pre-Islamic and Islamic traditions.
I am leading this project, which involves photographic documentation carried out on-site by the local youth of Makli, which I then catalog and digitalized to create a comprehensive archive. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities, the Government of Sindh, and the British Council Pakistan.
The recording will add to the archive of patterns from World Heritage Site, Makli while aiming for the youth involved to develop a greater attachment to Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
